Applications are invited for appointment as Technical Managers in Laboratory for Synthetic Chemistry and Chemical Biology (the Laboratory) located at Hong Kong Science Park. Established as a research unit in Hong Kong Science Park and led by Prof. Chi-Ming Che, the Laboratory integrates chemical science and biomedical science for the development of new molecular medicines and diagnostics tools for the treatment and analysis of human diseases with a focus on cancer.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Biomedical Science or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ experience in the fields of synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, bioinorganic chemistry and/or chemical biology. Experience in preparing grant applications, managing externally funded projects and training research staff would be an advantage. They should have good organization and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team of multi-disciplinary areas. The appointee will be responsible for operational support to research projects, technical training of research staff, management of laboratory equipment and resources, preparation of project reports and publications, and perform any other managerial duties as assigned. Lower qualification and less experienced candidate maybe appointed as Technical Officer.
